No special skills are needed – just the willingness to care and spend time with someone who needs you. The Midlands Mentoring Partnership will help you find the agency that best fits your interests. There are many agencies to work with—each one has their own niche. Each agency that matches mentors with youth maintains its own mentor screening, background checks, training and supervision.
For persons interested in becoming a mentor, the Midlands Mentoring Partnership provides standardized, detailed descriptions of local mentoring programs, with contact information. You may complete an interest form that we will forward to the appropriate agencies based on your interests/criteria. Or you may contact the agencies directly to learn more about their mentor criteria, policies and procedures. We are proud that all members of the Midlands Mentoring Partnership utilize the National Elements of Effective Practice for Mentoring in carrying out their program goals.
